Q:”How many people work with you”

A:”Approximately 18 people”

There were many other questions answered and asked . One important question that was on our minds was what would happen to the information if any of it was lost? All the information is on the computer, so if it was lost for any reason how could they get it back? “Well”he said “that question is asked a lot and the answer is that they also have it on micro film and CD document if needed”. We also found out that that the people who are going to handle confidential documents have to go through and take a test. Only the people with the top scores have a chance to get the job. The people with the highest scores are run past the manager Mike J. and he makes the final decision on who gets the job. The requirements for being able to work here is to have at least a GED and some type of education in law. You also need to be pretty good with your social skills and good at problem solving .

The owner of the Wayne County Courthouse is Wayne County itself! There are two different courthouses in Lyons. One particular courthouse is the new one and it has been around for about ten years compared to the old courthouse that has been in used since 1854. About 43 people work in both courthouses combined.

In the new courthouse there are five courts total, but there are only four courts that can hold juries. On the other hand there is only one courtroom in the old courthouse. The courtroom inside of the old courthouse is mostly only used for graduation from drug court. They hold this type of ceremony in the old courthouse because they think it is a special ceremony and should be held in an important place.

In order to become a judge for the courts you have to be an attorney for at least ten years. The type of education you need for this job is that you need to go to law school and pass a bar to become a judge. Ellis Bozzolo is the chief clerk and has worked in the Lyons Courthouse for three years and altogether he worked twenty years in many different courts. Judge Kehoe says that everything that he does at his job is very rewarding. During this job you have to have the responsibility to listen closely to the evidence that is being held.

The village of Lyons has an important lock system. This system is called Lock 27. The owner of the locks is the State of New York they also manage the locks. The locks help provide transportation to the travelers on the canal.
Lock 27 has been around for almost 100 years. This lock opened in 1913 and is still in good condition. There are 3 full time workers on lock 27 and only 1 part time. There are some important skills and education that you need to work at the locks. Some skills that you need are mechanic engineering and electrical experience.
Our tour guide, Mr. Albanese, has been working at the locks for 25 years. He thinks the best part of working at the locks is the retirement deal, meeting new people, also to be working outside.
The locks have a very interesting system. This system is when people are on the canal and are going to have to go through the lock. They have to rise or lower the water to let the boat safely with out falling over a waterfall. When a boat is coming near a lock there is a light signal that is either red or green. When the light is red you have to wait until the light turns green that means you have the right away. When the lock doors open it is very important that you are not playing around you might fall in and will be pulled under the current and will drown.
When there is a boat coming from a lock to another the lock works will communicate with each other by using a phone or walkie-talkie to let each other know to be prepared for the boat.
Lock 27 is the 27th lock out of 57.

It’s been a long time since themes.wordpress.net stopped accepting new themes. Since then most theme authors have been distributing their themes from their own sites, without a good centralized place for people to browse, search, comment on, and rate themes. With the success of the plugins directory, we’ve wanted to have those same benefits in a theme directory. Today is the day we start making that happen, with the introduction of wordpress.org/extend/themes/.

Bringing the new theme directory under the WordPress “extend” umbrella allowed us to take advantage of all the infrastructure that has already been built up to support WordPress.org. If you’ve browsed through the plugin directory, you’ll feel right at home in the new theme directory.

We’ve gone through great lengths to make this as painless as possible for theme authors. You don’t need to know anything about Subversion (our back end magic takes care of all that for you), just login with your WordPress.org username and password and go to the upload page. From there you upload your regular theme zip file and we take care of the rest.

Once you upload your new theme we do a few automated checks for some of the requirements for each theme. If we find one that you missed we’ll provide you an error and description of what needs to be fixed. When a theme upload has been accepted we’ll send you an email and put it in the queue to be reviewed, to make sure we didn’t miss anything. After the theme has been approved you’ll get another email letting you know that the theme is now live.

That catches you up to where we’re at today. When you finish that theme you’ve been slaving over, upload it to the new directory and let us know what you think. Since so much has changed since the old theme directory we’re starting fresh from zero. If you’ve got specific questions or suggestions contact us and we’ll do our best to get them answered.
