County Clerks

By Jessica • Aug 12th, 2008 • Category: County Clerk

Have you ever wondered what happens at the county clerks office? Well Leaps Pride of Lyons students found out. They started out by interviewing the county clerk and asked him a few questions. Here are a few of the questions we asked.

Q:”WHAT IS THE CLERKS NAME”

a:”Mike Jankowski”

Q:”How many people work with you”

A:”Approximately 18 people”

There were many other questions answered and asked . One important question that was on our minds was what would happen to the information if any of it was lost? All the information is on the computer, so if it was lost for any reason how could they get it back? “Well”he said “that question is asked a lot and the answer is that they also have it on micro film and CD document if needed”. We also found out that that the people who are going to handle confidential documents have to go through and take a test. Only the people with the top scores have a chance to get the job. The people with the highest scores are run past the manager Mike J. and he makes the final decision on who gets the job. The requirements for being able to work here is to have at least a GED and some type of education in law. You also need to be pretty good with your social skills and good at problem solving .
